January 21, 2023 - Ukraine Floral Crowns X2
We are still traveling the world in flowers in 2023 and to kick off this new year, we'll be designing flowers to honor the citizens of Ukraine. We'll be making floral hair wreaths or floral crowns inspired by Ukrainian traditional crowns known as "Vinoks." According to an article in Vogue, the floral crown/wreath is not just an accessory, "The meaning of the wreaths traces back to Ukraine’s early history, when they were associated with virginity, marriage, and womanhood, and have continued to be, up until the early 20th century."
In this class, we'll teach you how to make a floral crown to wear and you'll have enough time and supplies to make two or double up on one. Feel free to bring a friend or child to make a floral crown with you! This is a class about honoring the women of Ukraine and the bold fight they are living every day to survive a terrible unjust war.
Flower Duet will make a donation to help the Ukrainian people through the Santa Barbara-based charity,
Direct Relief from the proceeds of this class.

In-Person
Discover a new flower spot on the globe every week with a new and unique class each month in the studio. Learn about cultural traditions, flowers, and food as well as travel stories from the globe-trotting sisters of Flower Duet.
In-Person will be INSIDE - :
1) After you sign up, you will receive an email one week before class to confirm.
2) 10 a.m. Come to Flower Duet's studio at your own workspace. Stay home if you are sick. Wear a mask if you like. Wear comfortable shoes and cozy coat as our design space can be chilly in the winter months. Chairs are provided for each student, but many people like to design standing.
Flower Studio Location: 2675 Skypark Drive, Suite 205, Torrance, CA 90505. We are across the street from Lowe's and in-between Amazon and Sam's Club. Free Parking. Handicapped accessible studio.

Reservations: To reserve your place in our workshops, sign up online or call 310-792-4968. All classes must be pre-paid. If you need to cancel, please do so two business days in advance. If a class is sold out, please call us to be put on a waiting list.
