Our Story

Flower Duet isn’t just a floral studio; it’s a creative partnership over two decades in the making. We are Kit Wertz and Casey Coleman Schwartz, the sisters behind the blooms. Our journey didn’t start in our huge floral design HQ warehouse—it started in our parents’ garden and eventually spanned the globe. 

From Cruise Ships to the South Bay 

The "Duet" began when Casey was traveling the world as an officer on luxury cruise ships. Her job was as unique as it was inspiring: sourcing fresh flowers from local vendors at ports across the Mediterranean and Caribbean to keep the ship’s arrangements vibrant and full of life. When she returned home to Los Angeles, Kit was busy honing her own craft through floral design courses and exploring the world of European floristry while living in the Netherlands. In 1999, we joined forces to create the flowers for Kit’s own wedding. That single event sparked a flurry of requests from friends and family, and Flower Duet was born.

 Taking the Mystery Out of Design 

For over 25 years, we’ve operated with one core mission: to “take the mystery out of floral arranging." We believe that arranging flowers is a life skill, not a secret society. Whether we are designing high-end galas for clients like BMW, PIH, and Sony Music, or teaching sold-out workshops at the Huntington Library, our goal is the same—to share the joy and "casual elegance" of professional floral design.

 Our Roots in the Community 

Today, we work out of our large design studio in Torrance, where we focus on sustainable practices and sourcing from local California growers. From blushing brides to aspiring florists opening their own shops, we are here to provide custom floral experiences that are as authentic and vibrant as the sisters who started it all.
